Massachusetts Lax

Weston up early 3 0. CC scores 8 straight. It was interesting to watch an undefeated Weston team unravel with each CC goal. Cheap penalties, whining coach and players. Weston had a chance but killed themselves.

A good league battle but CC has already jumped out hardened their composure by playing 3 4 BIGS. If Marshfield is that good and they are insulted that Dux wouldn’t play them, and for the record I wouldn’t play Marshfield if I was Dux, then they will get their chance in about a month. I am going to go out on a limb and say that Duxbury crushes Marshfield and this all ends up a moot point. My two cents!

after seeing dux play coh last night and seeing marshfield play coh there is no way that Dux will crush marshfield in a playoff game and it might be quite the contrary. my 2 cents dux looked very average last night in the first half and a little better than average in the 2nd half.

Also, this is the latest ranking from ESPN Boston

Team Name Record Last Week Notes

1. Duxbury (5 3) 1 The Green Dragons split their weekend series with New York powers Irondequoit (W, 10 7) and Niskayuna (L, 7 6). The rationale here is real simple: Duxbury needs to lose to a Mass. team to fall out of the No. 1 spot. Can Cohasset do it tomorrow night?

2. Wellesley (7 0) 4 Defense shone through this weekend for the Raiders, who held Concord Carlisle to just two goals to capture the Coaches Challenge Cup.

3. Billerica (6 2) 5 Since the Duxbury loss on April 14, the Indians have won four straight and outscored the opposition 59 15. Andover should be a good test on Friday.

4. Concord Carlisle (7 1) 2 The Patriots lost in the finals of the Coaches Challenge Cup, but there is no rest as undefeated Weston visits tomorrow for DCL supremacy.

5. Marshfield (8 0) 8 The Rams continue to roll through the ACL with wins last week over Dennis Yarmouth and Sandwich. We can’t wait for Saturday’s showdown with BC High.

6. Needham (6 1) 7 The Rockets looked darn impressive last week, with Tuesday’s win over Bishop Guertin and last Thursday’s 18 5 romp of Scituate. They’ll look to even the score with archrival Wellesley tomorrow night.

7. Hingham (7 1) 6 The Harbormen followed up the 11 10 thriller over Lincoln Sudbury last Thursday with a cheap jerseys 14 6 rout of Winchester over the weekend. Circle May 3’s battle with Duxbury on your calendar.

8. BC High (6 2) 5 The Eagles curbed their two game skid with an 8 5 win over Acton Boxborough. Tough week ahead for BC, with Xaverian, St.

9. Dover Sherborn (7 1) 11 Medfield has not lost a Tri Valley League game since the league’s inception. Could the Raiders be the first on Friday?

10. Walpole (6 0) 16 The Rebels downed St. John’s Prep, 12 11, in an overtime classic to make this big leap. Tough Bay State Conference slate this week, with Newton North tomorrow and Wellesley on Thursday.

11. Masconomet (5 1) 18 The Chieftains make a big jump this week on the heels of wins over Westford, Peabody and Reading.

12. Reading (6 1) 9 The Rockets looked solid in wins over Austin Prep and Central Catholic before taking a step back in a loss to Masconomet on Saturday.

13. Cohasset (8 2) 14 The Skippers rebounded forcefully last week, beating Hull and Norwood by a combined 26 2. Tomorrow night’s showdown with Duxbury will be fun.

14. Medfield (5 3) 10 Big Blue scored themselves a nice win over Xaverian before falling to Connecticut power Glastonbury, 10 3. Friday’s matchup with Dover Sherborn might be the most anticipated TVL game in years.

15. Andover (6 2) 22 The Golden Warriors scored just seven goals in their two Coaches Challenge Cup losses but ought to have a better showing this week against Billerica.

16. Weston (7 0) 19 The Wildcats’ first seven opponents are a combined 18 28 as of today. Tomorrow night’s tussle with Concord Carlisle will tell us if Weston is for real.

17. Xaverian (5 3) 22 The Hawks escaped Lexington with an overtime win before taking a 10 5 loss to Medfield on Thursday. An upset at BC High tomorrow night isn’t out of the realm.

18. Lexington (6 2) 12 Tough to punish the Minutemen for their two game losing skid. The losses to Xaverian and St. John’s Prep were by a goal each.

19. Westford (5 3) 13 Is the 12 goal loss to Billerica worrisome? We’ll find out in a few weeks when the Grey Ghosts take on Lincoln Sudbury, but for now there are a few opportunities to work out some rust.

20. Lincoln Sudbury (4 4) 8 The Warriors ended their four game skid on Saturday with an 8 1 stomping of North Andover.
